Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Goud has announced plans to organise a massive Congress rally in Hyderabad, similar to the march held by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in Delhi. Speaking during an informal interaction with the media, he said the party is considering a rally involving around two lakh people, from the Indira Gandhi statue to Parade Grounds. The final route and date will be decided after discussions with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, with the event likely to be scheduled after Dasara. Goud added that the AICC is also planning similar rallies and public meetings in other states. Meanwhile, the Congress will hold a series of meetings to prepare for the upcoming Graduate MLC elections.
Goud said he would meet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy soon to discuss several issues. Referring to the RTC union elections, he acknowledged that the Congress faced defeat for multiple reasons but maintained that ensuring justice for workers and strengthening the organisation were the party’s priorities. He also criticised what he described as false and trivial allegations against Rahul Gandhi, including claims concerning women journalists and an alleged incident involving Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Rahul Gandhi’s security personnel. Goud said the video showed Shivakumar being called back. He further stated that Rahul Gandhi had helped Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge tighten his shoelace. Opposing restrictions on protests at Jantar Mantar, Goud said the right to demonstrate must be protected. He also criticised the removal of Dharna Chowk in Telangana and predicted that the BJP would lose power at the Centre.
