A major malpractice racket linked to the NEET examination has been uncovered in Bihar, exposing a network of fake candidates who allegedly appeared for the exam on behalf of actual students. According to investigators, seven impersonators, commonly referred to as a “solver gang,” were found to have written the examination in place of genuine candidates. The accused reportedly charged between ₹30 lakh and ₹40 lakh from each student for facilitating the fraud.
The investigation revealed alleged collusion between the gang and employees of a biometric verification agency. Police arrested a total of 24 individuals, including 14 staff members associated with the biometric company. Authorities suspect that the network may have links to previous examination-related controversies, including paper leak cases. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over the integrity and security of national-level entrance examinations.
