The funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been delayed by nearly four months, an unusual development under Islamic traditions. Following his death, Iran faced intense attacks from Israel and the United States, leading to a prolonged war-like situation. Officials stated that the funeral, originally scheduled for March, had to be postponed due to the ongoing conflict and instability in the country.
Authorities clarified that the body was preserved temporarily under strict adherence to Islamic customs. As the use of chemicals on the body is prohibited in Islam, it was reportedly stored in cold conditions without any chemical treatment. Iranian sources also confirmed that religious scholars had granted permission for this arrangement during the extraordinary circumstances.
