BJP MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut urged women to focus on becoming financially and emotionally independent before considering marriage. Reacting to recent dowry harassment cases and suspicious deaths of married women across several states, Kangana shared an emotional note on Instagram. She said women should never wait for someone to rescue them during difficult times and stressed that career and self-identity are more important than marriage.
Kangana stated that many educated women are pleading with their parents to save them from abusive marriages before their lives become more tragic. She advised young women to become their own heroes, build their lives on their own terms, and prioritize personal growth over societal pressure. Her remarks came amid shocking incidents including the alleged suicide of actress Twisha Sharma in Bhopal and dowry harassment-related deaths reported in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh within a week.
