The Andhra Pradesh Government has assured tobacco farmers that it will take all necessary measures to ensure remunerative prices for their produce. State Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu held a teleconference with district collectors and directed officials to closely monitor the tobacco market. He emphasized that the government is committed to protecting farmers' interests and ensuring stability in tobacco prices.
The minister instructed officials to remain vigilant about the problems faced by Flue-Cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco farmers and prevent them from incurring losses. He directed the administration to continuously monitor market conditions and ensure that the price of FCV tobacco does not fall below ₹200 per kilogram, providing relief and confidence to farmers during the marketing season.
