Indian Stock Markets End Lower

Domestic stock markets opened on a weak note on Tuesaday and remained in negative territory until the close of trading. The Sensex fell 388.19 points, or 0.49%, to settle at 78,154.25, while the Nifty declined 112.10 points, or 0.46%, to close at 24,471.70.

Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Finolex Cables and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals featured among the top gainers. Meanwhile, Balrampur Chini Mills, Action Construction Equipment and Lloyds Metals & Energy were among the stocks that recorded losses during the session.
