OpenAI’s Sora AI Video Feature Likely Coming to ChatGPT

Earlier this month, reports suggested that OpenAI plans to integrate its Sora AI model into ChatGPT. The integration aims to bring AI-powered video generation directly to the chatbot, allowing users to transform text and images into videos with dialogue, soundtrack, and style.

Evidence of this integration has been found in the latest ChatGPT Android app version 1.2026.076. During an APK teardown, text snippets such as

“Video in ChatGPT is here,” “Create video”, and “Try it with a photo” were discovered, indicating that the feature could be close to release. While the snippets do not explicitly mention Sora, the functionality matches the AI video tool.

OpenAI is expected to maintain the standalone Sora app and website even after integration. Since the Sora app is not yet fully available globally, it remains unclear whether the video generation feature in ChatGPT will initially be region limited or available worldwide.
