Google has announced the rollout of new agentic capabilities in AI Mode in India, enabling users to discover and book restaurant reservations directly through Search. The feature is designed to handle multi-step queries such as party size, date, time, location, and cuisine preferences, helping users complete real-world tasks more efficiently without switching between multiple apps or websites. Google stated that this upgrade aims to simplify complex search tasks into a seamless, single-flow experience.
The system leverages Google’s Knowledge Graph, Maps integration, and live web browsing through Project Mariner, along with partnerships with platforms like Zomato, Swiggy, and EazyDiner in India. It can scan live availability, compare options in real time, and provide curated restaurant lists with direct booking links. The feature is currently rolling out in India, with plans to expand to more use cases and services in the future as part of Google’s broader Gemini-powered AI ecosystem.
