Google has officially launched the beta version of Gemini Spark for the Gemini app on macOS. Introduced at Google I/O 2026, the AI-powered personal assistant is designed to automate multi-step tasks across apps and services. It can organise PDF files, create spreadsheets from local documents, manage schedules, and simplify repetitive workflows. Google clarified that Gemini Spark only accesses files after receiving explicit permission from users.
Along with the beta release, Google has introduced integrations with Google Tasks, Google Keep, Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, and Zillow Rentals. The AI assistant also supports custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations and proactive monitoring of news, weather, financial markets, sports, shopping, social media, and emails. Currently, Gemini Spark for macOS is available in beta only to Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and above in the United States.
