Google has introduced five new features for its AI-powered Search experiences, including AI Overviews and AI Mode. The company says these updates are aimed at improving usability, accessibility, and overall user experience. Users will now receive curated suggestions, in-depth articles, and detailed analyses along with answers generated by Gemini to help them explore topics more effectively.
Google is also making it easier for users to identify trusted sources in citations. AI-generated responses will now display labels and tick marks for content linked to users’ subscribed news sources. In another major update, Google is adding expert opinions and reviews from people who have used products, visited locations, or possess expertise in specific areas. These insights will be sourced from public discussions, social media, and firsthand experiences, along with creator or community details.
The company is also expanding citation visibility by adding more clickable source links across responses. Additionally, desktop users can now preview websites by hovering over inline links, allowing them to see the website name and page title before opening it. Google says these updates are designed to make Search more informative, trustworthy, and user-friendly.
