Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared an emotional message on social media after his son Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2026 season. Arjun played his first match against Punjab Kings on Sunday. Although Lucknow lost the game, the 26-year-old impressed everyone with his performance.
With Lucknow already out of the playoffs race, the team gave Arjun an opportunity in their final league match. The left-arm pacer delivered a promising spell and dismissed Punjab opener Prabhsimran Singh with a stunning yorker that trapped him LBW. Arjun finished with figures of 1 wicket for 36 runs in four overs. In fact, he could have picked up Prabhsimran’s wicket in his very first over itself, but captain Rishabh Pant dropped a catch. Compared to the other bowlers in the side, Arjun maintained a respectable economy rate of 9. He also contributed 5 runs off 5 balls with the bat.
Despite receiving limited opportunities this season, Sachin praised Arjun for remaining patient, positive, and committed throughout the tournament. In his heartfelt post on X, Sachin wrote:
“Arjun, very well played. I am proud of the way you believed in yourself, stayed patient, and kept working hard quietly throughout the season. Even while waiting for your opportunity until the final match, you remained positive. Cricket tests not only your skill but also your patience, and today you showed both beautifully. Always stay the same and continue loving the game. Love you always.”
