Indian badminton star Kidambi Srikanth narrowly missed out on the US Open Super 300 title after losing in the final. The veteran shuttler went down to Chinese Taipei’s Su Li Yang in a thrilling contest that lasted over an hour on Sunday. Despite losing the first game, Srikanth made a strong comeback in the second, but could not match the pace and consistency of his younger opponent in the decider.
The match ended 15-21, 21-16, 9-21 in favor of Su Li Yang. The 33-year-old former World No. 1 started the season’s first final strongly but lost rhythm due to unforced errors. This marks another runner-up finish for Srikanth after previous second-place finishes in major tournaments, though he remains a consistent performer on the international stage.
