Indian Premier League continues to expand its popularity across the country, attracting not only cricket fans but also major business leaders. Now, Vedanta Group chairman Anil Agarwal has sparked widespread discussion after expressing his wish for Bihar to have its own IPL franchise. Comparing Bihar with teams like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, Agarwal said the state has immense cricketing talent but still lacks proper recognition on the national stage. His comments have quickly gone viral across social media platforms.
In his post, Anil Agarwal highlighted Bihar’s growing contribution to Indian cricket by mentioning players like Ishan Kishan from Patna, Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Samastipur and promising pacer Sakib Hussain from Gopalganj. He stated that Bihar’s youth possess world-class talent and only require better infrastructure and opportunities to succeed at the highest level. Agarwal also expressed his willingness to support the development of cricket in Bihar, calling the state an emotion rather than just a place. Following his remarks, many cricket fans have started demanding a Bihar-based IPL franchise in the near future.
