

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the Women’s Reservation Bill is a historic step aimed at strengthening women’s participation in governance. Addressing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ in Delhi, he said the amendment linked to the legislation will be presented during the special session of Parliament. He described it as a crucial decision of the 21st century and said Parliament is on the verge of creating a new chapter in history.
He emphasized that the move will fulfill a long pending demand and is dedicated to women’s empowerment. Modi added that the 21st century belongs to women and that the implementation of the law will help achieve gender equality and social justice. He also noted that discussions on the bill are expected to begin in Parliament from April 16, with a broad consensus to implement it by 2029 through collective efforts.
