The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has strongly objected to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s remarks at a media conclave in Delhi on Monday, in which he said that “Shiva is the God of the poor, while Ram is the God of the rich.” The VHP described the comments as an attack on Hindu faith.
VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal alleged that the Congress has been attempting to create divisions within Hindu society on various grounds and has now sought to create a divide between Hindu deities as well.
“Over the past 76 years, the Congress has tried to divide Hindus on the basis of caste, community and region. Now, it is attempting to create divisions even among Hindu gods,” Bansal said.
He also alleged that the Congress and Muslims were closely associated politically and demanded that the Congress leadership clarify its position on Revanth Reddy’s remarks. He further sought clarity on whether the Chief Minister would apologise for his comments
