Amid escalating tensions with Iran, efforts by U.S. President Donald Trump to mobilize allied support for securing the Strait of Hormuz have reportedly failed. Responding to the situation, Trump asserted that the United States does not need assistance from other nations and is prepared to act independently to restore maritime operations in the strategic waterway.
“We don’t need anyone. We are the most powerful nation in the world with the strongest military,” Trump stated, expressing frustration over the reluctance of allied countries to join the initiative. With the Iran-U.S.-Israel conflict intensifying, concerns over global oil supply have surged, as Iran tightens its grip on oil tanker movement in the Persian Gulf. Several nations, including China and NATO allies, have declined to participate, prompting Trump to issue strong warnings and hint at postponing his planned China visit.
