US President Donald Trump has once again sparked political debate with his remarks during the America 250 Independence celebrations held on Saturday. Addressing the gathering, Trump jokingly stated that he was serving as President for the third time. Although he is currently serving his second term, he reiterated his long-standing claim that the 2020 presidential election was taken away from him. Trump then smiled and added that he did not want to get into controversial issues before continuing with his speech.
During his address, Trump also highlighted his efforts to strengthen the US military, saying that his first presidency focused on rebuilding the country's armed forces and enhancing national security. His latest remarks have once again revived discussions surrounding the 2020 election, which he has repeatedly challenged without producing evidence accepted by the courts. Following that election, supporters of Trump stormed the US Capitol in January 2021 while Congress was certifying Joe Biden's victory, leading to widespread controversy and allegations that Trump had encouraged the unrest.
