A major political development has taken place in the United States as the Senate passed a historic resolution limiting President Donald Trump's authority to take military action against Iran. The resolution states that U.S. forces cannot be deployed into a conflict with Iran without prior approval from Congress. The move gained attention as several Republican lawmakers joined Democrats in supporting the measure.
The resolution passed the Senate by 50 votes to 48. Four Republican senators crossed party lines to support the bill, while Democratic Senator John Fetterman voted against it. Earlier, the House of Representatives had approved the measure by a margin of 215-208 votes.
