The internal differences within the Congress party in Wanaparthy have intensified, with MLA Megha Reddy strongly reacting to remarks made by Planning Commission Vice Chairman Chinna Reddy. Chinna Reddy had allegedly claimed that Megha Reddy secured his MLA ticket by paying money. Responding to the allegation, Megha Reddy questioned how much Chinna Reddy had paid when he contested as an MLA eight times.
Megha Reddy said it was inappropriate for a person holding a senior government position to make allegations against the party and its leadership. He alleged that Chinna Reddy was attempting to pressure the party leadership for the renewal of his post. Megha Reddy said he had complained about Chinna Reddy’s conduct to Disciplinary Committee Chairman Mallu Ravi and would also approach the Congress high command and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He warned that if Chinna Reddy was not suspended from the party within a week, he would lead thousands of party workers in a protest at Gandhi Bhavan.
