Konda Sushmitha Patel, daughter of Telangana minister Konda Surekha, has made strong remarks against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Speaking during her mother’s birthday celebrations in the Parakala constituency, she claimed that Parakala has traditionally been the political stronghold of the Konda family. Sushmitha said she would contest from Parakala and asserted that she would continue as the MLA for the coming years. She also made it clear that she would contest as an independent if the Congress denied her a ticket.
Sushmitha alleged that the Konda couple had supported Revanth Reddy when he sought the position of TPCC president. She claimed that Reddy had promised to make her father, Konda Murali, an MLC but failed to honour the assurance. Sushmitha challenged Revanth Reddy to swear that he had never promised an MLC position to her father. She questioned why the promise was not fulfilled if such an assurance had indeed been made.
She further accused Revanth Reddy and his brothers of several alleged irregularities and said she had substantial information regarding them. Sushmitha warned that she would reveal the details one by one. She also alleged that the government was following an authoritarian approach and attempting to suppress BC communities. At the same time, she said she respected Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, the AICC and the TPCC, but alleged that Revanth Reddy’s conduct was damaging their image.
Sushmitha also questioned the proposed candidature of Revoori Prakash Reddy in Parakala and challenged both Revanth Reddy and Prakash Reddy to resign and face a by-election. She said the election would determine whether she or Revoori Prakash Reddy had greater public support. Reiterating her stand, Sushmitha said she would contest independently from Parakala if the Congress did not give her the party ticket.
