Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Responding to remarks made by the Prime Minister in Parliament, he questioned whether Modi had forgotten the tragedies that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rahul Gandhi made these comments while speaking to the media outside Parliament on Tuesday.
He said it was inappropriate for the Prime Minister to compare the current situation with the COVID-19 period. Rahul Gandhi added that making such comparisons at a time when LPG and petrol prices are rising is not justified. He also alleged that the Prime Minister appears to have forgotten the severe hardships and losses faced by people during the pandemic. Further, he strongly criticized India’s foreign policy, stating that it has effectively become the personal foreign policy of Narendra Modi and has turned into an object of ridicule at the international level.
Rahul Gandhi also reacted to the proposed all-party meeting on developments in Central Asia. He said that even if such a meeting is convened, a fundamental and structural mistake has already been made that cannot be corrected. He alleged that the Prime Minister is acting according to the directions of the United States and is not prioritizing the interests of farmers and the nation. He further stated that he may not be able to attend the all-party meeting due to a prior engagement in Kerala.
