Vijay’s much-awaited film ‘Jananayagan’ is facing continuous hurdles even before its release. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film got delayed due to censor-related issues and controversy surrounding sensitive scenes in the movie. The situation became more serious after clips and reportedly the full film leaked online, affecting the overall hype and business prospects. Reports now suggest that the film’s OTT deal is also in trouble.
Earlier, Amazon Prime Video reportedly acquired the digital streaming rights for nearly ₹120 crore. However, due to delays and declining buzz around the film, the platform is said to be reconsidering the deal. Reports claim that ZEE5 has now offered around ₹50 crore for the streaming rights. If the deal goes through, producers may reportedly face a major loss in the OTT business. The film also stars Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in key roles.
