The Avatar films directed by James Cameron are well known among movie lovers worldwide. So far, three parts of the franchise have been released and two more films are planned for the future. The first movie released in 2009 became a massive hit, while the second film Avatar: The Way of Water released in 2022 received a decent response. The third part, Avatar: Fire and Ash, was released in theaters on December 19 last year. Although it did not impress many viewers, it still managed to collect more than ₹12,000 crore globally.
Now, nearly three months after its theatrical release, the film is ready to arrive on OTT platforms. From the 31st of this month, “Avatar: Fire and Ash” will be available for rent on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. However, on Amazon Prime Video it will be available only in English. Reports say that the movie may later stream in regional languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi on Disney+ Hotstar during April or May, as the platform holds the digital rights in India.
The story of “Avatar 3” continues after the events of the second film. Jake Sully and Neytiri are still grieving the loss of their elder son while trying to live peacefully with their children. Jake’s son Lo’ak feels guilty about his brother’s death. Meanwhile, the villain Colonel Quaritch returns in a new Na’vi form and plans to take revenge on Jake. This time, he is supported by Varang, the leader of the fire clan. With the help of the RDA forces, they try to challenge Jake and his family. How Jake’s family faces these enemies forms the rest of the story.
