The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has expanded its administrative structure by increasing the number of zones from 6 to 12 and circles from 30 to 60, following the extension of GHMC limits up to the Outer Ring Road (ORR). The state government issued orders to restructure the civic body to improve governance and administrative efficiency in the expanded urban area.
As part of the reorganisation, Uppal, Quthbullapur, Malkajgiri, Shamshabad, Golconda, and Rajendranagar have been created as new zones. New zonal offices will function from circle offices, while new circle offices will be set up at ward office locations. Administrative operations will commence from these newly established zonal and circle offices.
