State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu reiterated that the government is firmly committed to transforming Hyderabad into a “Global Value Creation Hub” not only in IT but also across diverse sectors including banking, financial services, life sciences, healthcare, aerospace, manufacturing, fintech, deep tech and retail. He stated that special focus is being placed on preparing Telangana’s youth as a “ready-to-work” workforce aligned with industry requirements, while also fostering a robust global innovation ecosystem to encourage cutting-edge advancements. On Monday, he formally inaugurated “The Hartford India Technology Center” at Nanakramguda Financial District, established across 150,000 square feet with a capacity to employ 1,200 professionals.
The Minister observed that the decision of The Hartford, a company with over two centuries of legacy, to choose Hyderabad as part of its global expansion reflects recognition of the city’s talent pool and leadership in digital engineering. He noted that the new center would further strengthen Hyderabad’s brand image in advanced insurance services powered by AI and risk intelligence. The city currently hosts more than 400 Global Capability Centers (GCCs), including major corporations such as Marriott, McDonald’s, UBS, DAZN, Vanguard, Eli Lilly, HCA Healthcare and Citizens Bank. The government is implementing strategic plans to transform these centers from back-end operations into high-value global innovation and value creation hubs.
He emphasized that transparent governance, effective leadership, ease-of-doing-business reforms and the development of modern digital infrastructure are key factors attracting global giants like The Hartford to Telangana. The newly launched technology center in Hyderabad will function in collaboration with The Hartford’s centers in Hartford, Chicago, Charlotte and Columbus in the United States. It is expected to operate as an “Engineering Excellence Hub,” focusing on artificial intelligence, digital transformation and advanced technology development. The inauguration ceremony was attended by The Hartford President Morris Tooker, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Claire Burns, CIO Shekhar Pannala, India MD and Head Surya Thammiraju, CTO Imran Malik and other senior executives.
