Fourteen Naxalites, including notorious Maoist leader Mangtu, were killed in two separate encounters with security forces in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
According to sources, the encounters occurred in the forests of Sukma and Bijapur districts. Twelve Maoists were killed during an operation in the Sukma district forest area. In a separate encounter, the bodies of two Naxalites, including Hunga Madkam, were recovered from the forest region near Gaganpalli village in Bijapur district.
Security forces also seized weapons from the slain Maoists, including a self - loading rifle and a 12- bore rifle.
