

Preparations have been completed for the grand Keslapur Nagoba Jatara, held at Keslapur village in Indravelli mandal of Adilabad district, which has been accorded the status of a state festival. The jatara will formally begin on Sunday night at 10 pm with the Maha Pujas conducted on the occasion of Pushya Masa Amavasya. Members of the Mesram clan will perform the ceremonial abhishekam to Nagoba with sacred Godavari water collected on foot from Hastina Madugu in Mancherial district, followed by the offering of seven varieties of naivedyam, marking the ritual inauguration of the festivities.
Tribal devotees from Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha are expected to arrive in large numbers to witness this unique spiritual event. As part of the jatara rituals, the Mesram clan will perform temple purification and special pujas on the 20th of this month, during which entry will be restricted to others. On the same day, Persapen pujas exclusively for men and Bhan Devata pujas with significant participation of women will be held. A Darbar will be conducted on the 22nd in the presence of ministers and district officials, providing a platform for tribals to present their grievances to the government. Traditional rituals of the Mesram clan will conclude on the 23rd with Betal pujas and Manda Gajiling ceremonies, while the inflow of devotees is expected to continue until the 25th.
