A fresh wave of Maoist surrenders has been reported in Chhattisgarh, where 11 members of the group laid down arms before the authorities. Among them was Randher, a key Central Committee leader who carried a reward of Rs 3 crore.
Randher was highly active in the MMC zone that covers Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. After the death of Milind Teltumbde, he took charge of the zone’s operations. Officials say his surrender marks a major shift, as the border regions of the three states are now moving closer to becoming free of Maoist influence.
Across several states in recent months, more Maoists have chosen to surrender and return to mainstream life, indicating a significant change on the ground.
