Vijay’s final film delayed, fans left worried

Vijay’s much-anticipated film 'Jana Nayagan' has not been released even five months after its scheduled Pongal 2026 release date. The delay is reportedly due to ongoing CBFC certification issues and legal hurdles that have stalled the clearance process.

Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the political action thriller was originally planned for release on January 9, 2026. Producer K. Venkat Narayana confirmed that the film is still awaiting CBFC approval and the new release date will be announced only after clearance. The delay has drawn significant attention as the film was promoted as Vijay’s final project before entering politics. Reports also suggest that leaked footage surfaced online during the delay period.
