Tollywood actor Varun Tej has been waiting for a solid solo hit for quite some time. His last major success as a solo lead came with Gaddalakonda Ganesh, directed by Harish Shankar. He later tasted success with F3, though it was a multi-starrer featuring Venkatesh Daggubati. However, his recent films like Gandeevadhari Arjuna, Operation Valentine, and Matka failed to meet box office expectations. Now, his latest film Korean Kanakaraju has opened to positive talk and promising box office numbers.
Before this release, Varun Tej’s previous films had modest openings, with ‘Matka’ collecting around Rs.65 lakh, ‘Operation Valentine’ Rs.80 lakh, and ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna’ Rs.75 lakh on their first day in the Telugu states. In contrast, ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ has reportedly earned an impressive Rs.3.16 crore on its opening day, marking a significant jump in collections. Trade analysts believe this strong start could provide much-needed momentum to Varun Tej’s career and signal a positive turnaround at the box office.
