Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is among the films generating considerable interest ahead of its August 26 release. Speaking about the film, Yash made it clear that the movie has been specifically created for adult audiences and is not intended for children. He said the film has been made honestly for grown-ups, who can understand the distinction between right and wrong and decide what they take away from the story.
Yash also addressed criticism surrounding the intimate scenes featured in the trailer and songs. He said the film is designed to make audiences think and that exploring different layers of every character is essential to taking the narrative in its intended direction. Responding to criticism of the romantic sequences, he said they should be viewed in the context of the relationship between the characters. Yash also defended director Geetu Mohandas, stressing that women have the same right to express emotions and that the scenes were included because of their relevance to the story, rather than simply for publicity.
