Nayanthara Set for Rare Double Release

It is common for films featuring popular actors to arrive in theatres within a short span, but two movies starring a leading actress releasing just 48 hours apart is a rare occurrence. Nayanthara is now set to create such an unusual box-office scenario with Toxic and Hi. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash in the lead, with Nayanthara playing Ganga, a powerful gangster character. The action drama is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 26 and has generated considerable anticipation.

Just two days later, Nayanthara will appear alongside young actor Kavin in Hi, which has been postponed from August 14 to August 28. Unlike the action-heavy world of Toxic, Hi is expected to present Nayanthara in a completely different setting. The back-to-back releases have created curiosity over whether the two films could influence each other at the box office. Nayanthara has also surprised fans by becoming more active in promotions, attending the grand launch of Toxic and participating in Hi promotional activities despite usually staying away from film events.
