Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, is making headlines with his directorial debut. Instead of following his father into acting, Jason has chosen to work behind the camera. He is making his debut with the high voltage action adventure Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan and produced by Lyca Productions. During a recent interview, Jason opened up about his family, describing his mother Sangeetha as the biggest pillar of his life. He said she constantly worries about him and his sister and immediately checks on him if he misses a call.
Jason also revealed that he is not able to share everything with his parents because he did not have much freedom to discuss personal matters with them while growing up. However, he considers his sister his best confidante and said he can speak openly with her about anything. Speaking about Vijay, Jason expressed immense pride in his father’s self-made journey and said Vijay has encouraged him to build his own identity without being influenced by others. Following that advice, Jason chose filmmaking over acting. Sigma, featuring Sundeep Kishan, Sampath and Raju Sundaram in key roles, has music by Thaman and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 2.
