Director Rahul responded after a social media user suggested that he make a film focusing on crimes committed by women against men. Rahul said he does not believe such incidents represent a larger social issue. Instead, he pointed out that women continue to face systemic discrimination and silent struggles in society, and that this is the core idea explored in his upcoming film, The Girlfriend.
Rahul added that he would study the case mentioned by the netizen and could consider making a film if the story was compelling. However, he clarified that it would be based on an individual crime and not on a broader theme. He also stated that Vikram, the lead character in The Girlfriend, is neither a murderer nor abusive, and welcomed constructive criticism from audiences.
