Another Setback for Tamannaah?

The Wakan: Force of the Forest, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia and Sidharth Malhotra in key roles, has arrived in theatres with expectations riding on its horror-comedy concept. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the film blends a rural setting with supernatural elements and humour. Tamannaah was also expected to benefit from the film and hoped it would connect with audiences in a manner similar to successful horror-comedies such as Stree.

However, the film has received a mixed response following its theatrical release. Its first-day collection is reportedly around Rs. 5 crore, while its weekend performance will be important in determining its overall box-office momentum. Some criticism has focused on the narrative and character development, with viewers pointing to a lack of freshness in the treatment. Tamannaah has already appeared in several Hindi films, although major commercial successes have been limited. She continues to receive opportunities through lead roles, special appearances and dance numbers, and reportedly has three to four projects in the pipeline. A strong success among her upcoming films could provide another boost to her career in Hindi cinema.
