As winter sets in, it is extremely important to take extra care of children’s health. During this season, cold weather can weaken immunity, cause dry skin, increase respiratory problems and allow viruses to spread easily. Strengthening your child’s immune system is essential to protect them from infections.
Teach children to wash their hands regularly. They must wash their hands before and after meals. Give them warm-water baths and keep their clothes clean and dry during winter.
Immunity tends to drop during winter, making children more prone to infections. Provide fruits rich in vitamin C, citrus fruits and fresh vegetables to boost their resistance.
Many children drink less water in winter, which can lead to dehydration. Offer warm water, soups and fresh juices regularly. Giving warm water in the morning is beneficial for good health.
Add dals, green leafy vegetables, fruits, milk, curd, eggs and nuts to their daily diet. Avoid junk food. Ensure proper sleep and some level of physical activity for overall wellness.
If your child experiences frequent cold, cough, fever or breathing issues, consult a pediatrician immediately.
