As temperatures soar unusually high this summer, many people are turning to refreshing drinks to quench their thirst. To overcome fatigue and reduce body heat during scorching days, a traditional village-style summer energy drink, once popular in grandmothers’ times, is making a comeback. This natural drink not only cools the body but also improves digestion. The best part is that it can be easily prepared at home without any hassle.
To prepare this refreshing drink, take one cup of mint leaves, two tablespoons of lemon juice, and three tablespoons of sugar or honey. Add half a tablespoon of cumin powder, salt to taste, three glasses of chilled water, and a cup of ice cubes. First, wash the mint leaves thoroughly and grind them in a mixer along with lemon juice and sugar or honey. Then add chilled water and blend again. Finally, mix in cumin powder and salt, strain the juice into glasses, and add ice cubes before serving. This traditional summer cooler is believed to have been a staple in households during earlier times.
Note: People with severe anemia should consult a doctor and undergo proper blood tests before taking iron supplements or medications.
