Anemia has become a common health issue among many women in India due to low hemoglobin levels. Hemoglobin is an important protein found in red blood cells that helps carry oxygen throughout the body. When hemoglobin levels decrease, people may experience weakness, fatigue, dizziness, and low energy. Health experts suggest that including iron-rich foods in the daily diet can naturally improve hemoglobin levels and reduce the risk of anemia.
Leafy greens, pulses, pumpkin seeds, dates, and raisins are considered excellent vegetarian sources of iron. Non-vegetarian foods like eggs, fish, chicken, and red meat also help improve blood levels effectively. Experts also recommend consuming Vitamin-C-rich foods such as lemons, oranges, and amla to improve iron absorption in the body. At the same time, avoiding tea, coffee, and dairy products immediately after iron-rich meals may help the body absorb iron better.
Note: People with severe anemia should consult a doctor and undergo proper blood tests before taking iron supplements or medications.
