However, despite their numerous health benefits, curry leaves may not be suitable for everyone. In particular, people with low blood sugar levels should avoid excessive intake, as curry leaves can further reduce glucose levels in the blood, potentially leading to hypoglycemia. This may cause symptoms such as dizziness and weakness. Additionally, some individuals may experience allergic reactions to curry leaves. If symptoms like itching, swelling or difficulty in breathing occur after consumption, it is advisable to discontinue use immediately.
Similarly, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers are generally advised not to consume curry leaves in large quantities, as hormonal changes can make the body more sensitive. Excessive consumption of curry leaf juice or powder may lead to nausea or digestive issues in some individuals. Those suffering from gastrointestinal problems, ulcers or severe gastric conditions may experience stomach irritation if raw curry leaves are consumed directly. Furthermore, individuals with kidney infections or those undergoing dialysis are advised to consult a doctor before consuming any herbal substances in large amounts, as certain compounds in curry leaves may affect their treatment.
