Chicken holds a special place in the diet of non-vegetarian food lovers and is commonly enjoyed as curry, fry, biryani and grilled chicken. Although chicken is a good source of protein, consuming certain foods immediately after a chicken-based meal may cause digestive discomfort in some people. Dairy products such as milk, curd and paneer may lead to bloating, gas or indigestion in sensitive individuals when consumed along with or soon after chicken. Similarly, sweets, cakes, ice cream and sugary soft drinks are best limited after a heavy meal because of their high sugar content.
Citrus fruits such as lemon, oranges and sweet lime may trigger acidity, heartburn or acid reflux in people who are sensitive to acidic foods, particularly when consumed immediately after a heavy meal. Deep-fried snacks such as pakoras, fritters and chips can also add to the digestive burden and may cause heaviness, bloating and discomfort. However, food combinations do not affect everyone in the same way. People with existing digestive problems or acidity should identify foods that trigger symptoms and limit them. Eating balanced portions and paying attention to the body's response can help support better digestion.
