The future of Kamal Haasan and director Shankar’s Indian 3 has reportedly come back into focus. Following the underwhelming response to Indian 2, there were reports that the third instalment of the franchise had been put on hold. However, according to reports from Chennai, the makers are now considering restarting the film’s post-production work. A major portion of Indian 3 was reportedly shot alongside Indian 2, while some patchwork and computer graphics work are said to be pending. The team is believed to be looking at completing the remaining work at the earliest and taking the film towards a theatrical release.
Indian 3 is also being seen as an important project for Shankar after the mixed response to Game Changer. The director could look to the Indian franchise to regain momentum, while the makers are reportedly keen to continue the series because of its established identity among audiences. Since a substantial portion of the film has already been completed, the remaining work may not require an extended production schedule. However, there is no official confirmation yet regarding the film’s release or the resumption of production. An announcement from the makers is expected to provide clarity on the project’s future.
