Vamsadhara River Swells in Srikakulam as First Flood Warning Issued at Gotta Barrage

Heavy rains in Srikakulam district have caused the Vamsadhara River to swell, with floodwaters flowing rapidly through the river. As the inflow at Gotta Barrage increased, authorities issued the first flood warning as a precautionary measure. The rising water level has prompted officials to closely monitor the situation in downstream areas.

Around 41,000 cusecs of water is currently flowing into the river, while the same quantity is being released downstream from the barrage. Authorities have advised people living along the riverbanks to remain alert and exercise caution as the flood situation continues to be monitored.
