The United States has reportedly warned Iran to immediately stop attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz or face serious consequences, according to international media reports. Washington has reportedly demanded that Iran publicly declare within 24 hours that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open for international shipping and that no further attacks on commercial vessels will take place.
Reports suggest the warning was conveyed to Iran through mediators, with the US indicating that failure to provide clear assurances could lead to military and economic measures. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to participate in mediation talks in Oman, after which Tehran may issue an official statement. Analysts believe tensions could escalate again if no clear commitment is made.
