

US President Donald Trump said that the United States had extracted more oil from the Strait of Hormuz over the past two days than ever before in history. He also expressed confidence that Iran would surrender soon. Iran, however, rejected Trump’s remarks made at the White House, describing his latest statements on the Strait of Hormuz as a repetition of claims he had made previously.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that no infrastructure in the region would remain safe unless guarantees were provided for Iran’s security. The exchange has added to the ongoing verbal confrontation between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, keeping attention focused on the security situation and tensions in the strategically important region.
