Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sharply criticized US President Donald Trump for signing a diesel supply deal with Russia. He said that America is on the 'wrong side' of history. Zelensky made these comments in an interview with Britain's 'Piers Morgan Uncensored'.
Zelensky's response came after Trump announced that he had signed an agreement with Russian President Putin to supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel from Russia to world markets, including the US. Trump says that this arrangement is to reduce high fuel prices in the world market and increase supply.
Speaking about the deal, Zelensky said, "It is sad that Trump is choosing a side other than us. At least it should be in the middle, but not on the wrong side." He said that Trump is being misled by his advisers and that this decision is historically incorrect. He expressed regret over losing a strong partner with this development.
At the same time, Zelensky also mentioned the 'energy ceasefire' announced by Trump on October 11. He said that he supported this proposal to reduce tensions and that Russia had not attacked energy targets for several days. However, he accused Russia of continuing to attack its energy infrastructure with ballistic missiles and drones. He expressed concern that at least 600,000 people are suffering without electricity as a result of these attacks.
