Training Is the Foundation of a Police Officer’s Career: Telangana DGP C.V. Anand

Telangana DGP C.V. Anand said training forms the foundation of a police officer’s career and advised probationary officers to develop discipline, commitment, leadership qualities and strong ethical values. Addressing 112 probationary DSPs undergoing training at the RBVRR Telangana Police Academy on Wednesday, he spoke about police leadership, responsibilities, professional ethics and the importance of dealing with the public effectively. Telangana Police also identifies training and officer development as important areas in its policing framework.

Anand explained that holding a position alone does not make someone a leader, stressing qualities such as courage, vision, integrity, teamwork, impartiality, effective communication, hard work, technological knowledge, creativity and humility. He urged the probationers to combine legal knowledge with investigation skills, technology, physical fitness and a humane approach. He said the ultimate objective of policing is to ensure public safety and timely justice.
