The Telangana Government has released the third installment of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, depositing ₹1,330.32 crore directly into the bank accounts of farmers owning 3 to 4 acres of agricultural land. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that 6.39 lakh farmers benefitted in this phase, covering 22.17 lakh acres. So far, the government has provided ₹5,402.37 crore to 61.35 lakh farmers for 90.04 lakh acres under the scheme through three phases.
The Minister also announced the appointment of Person in Charge (PIC) Committees for 14 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) across the state. The decision was taken after reports highlighted delays in loan recoveries, administrative lapses, poor governance, and audit irregularities. The committees will function for six months or until elections are conducted, ensuring uninterrupted services to farmers while PACS restructuring is underway.
