The Telangana Government has launched a comprehensive AI Upskilling and Capacity Building programme for government officials as part of its vision to modernise governance through advanced technology. The initiative is being implemented by the Planning Department in collaboration with TG MATH (Telangana Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Technology Hub). It aims to equip officials with practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI, enabling them to deliver faster, more transparent, and citizen-centric public services.
The programme has been introduced under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, with the objective of making Telangana a national model in digital governance. TG MATH, a Centre of Excellence jointly established by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and the Telangana Government, has already supported more than 180 AI startups. Through this initiative, the government seeks to promote responsible AI adoption, encourage innovation, and build a future-ready administrative system capable of addressing emerging governance challenges.
