The Telangana Government's High-Level Committee held an extensive meeting with Kakatiya University student activists and the families of Telangana martyrs at the Amaraveerula Jyothi premises in Hyderabad. The discussions focused on ensuring proper recognition for statehood activists and introducing comprehensive welfare measures for their families, including employment opportunities, higher education, quality healthcare, housing, pensions, and long-term social security.
Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the role played by students of Kakatiya and Osmania Universities during the Telangana movement was historic. He said the government aims not only to recognize the activists but also to strengthen their social and economic security through dedicated welfare policies. The committee assured that all suggestions received from activists and martyrs' families would be incorporated into its final report before being submitted to the Chief Minister for further action.
