Telangana Govt Orders Probe into Land Irregularities

The Telangana government has moved to initiate a high-level inquiry into alleged land irregularities and discrepancies reported in several districts. The move follows a detailed discussion in the Legislative Assembly over land-related issues. The government has decided to examine the records and transactions associated with such cases and take further action based on the findings of the inquiry.

The committee has been given powers to obtain records, documents and other information from government departments, officials and district administrations wherever required for the investigation. Officials have been directed to extend full cooperation and provide the necessary information promptly. The government has also called for the inquiry to be completed as quickly as possible, with interim reports permitted wherever necessary. Recent government action has separately focused on resolving pending disputes involving properties listed under Section 22-A of the Registration Act.
